Sustainable Communities Act
'If I was Prime Minister I would change .....
You are the expert on your local area, and know how it could be improved if Government changed the way it does things. The Sustainable Communities Act provides you with the opportunity to let us know your ideas. Are there legal requirements, rules and regulations surrounding funding or taxation, or inefficiencies connected with the distribution of responsibilities between governmental bodies, etc. which stand in the way of the creation of more sustainable local communities, then this is your chance to say how you think they need to change. Anyone can send us ideas, but the new Wiltshire Council needs to receive them by 24th April, 2009, as the Act gives it the role of considering local ideas, and forwarding those it selects on to Government.
To find out more, either download a leaflet/poster from the link below or pick up a leaflet at you local library, or Council office, or visit www.wiltshire.gov.uk and follow the links on the homepage to ' the Sustainable Communities Act - If I was Prime Minister .... ' You can submit ideas by filling in a tear off form on the leaflet, or use the online form.
